Hi there, welcome to my (very) small corner of the web.
TL;DR - started my career as a developer, went into software sales, came back to development, fell in (developer) love with Statamic & Laravel and have worked with companies like OpenTable & Duo and agencies like Transform Studios & Citizen Ad Agency.
My (Condensed) Timeline
graduated with a Bachelors of Computer Science
started coding before the internet!
learned BASIC, C, COBOL, C++, C#, Java, Javascript, CSS, HTML & PHP
helped build Microsoft Mac Office & Adobe PageMaker
sold software into the Fortune 1000
discovered Laravel & Statamic & started doing work for companies like OpenTable
My Tools
I build sites & apps using the most popular PHP application framework (Laravel) and the best Content Management System (Statamic).
Why Statamic?
Cuz it is, without a doubt, the best CMS around and allows skilled developers (like me!) to very quickly build well structured and performant sites.
I discovered Statamic back in its v1 days, and fell in love with its ethos & community. I started building small addons and have graduated to being an official team member. I also spend time everyday helping other devs learn Statamic, on Statamic’s forums and Discord channels.
As part of the community I've built several of the most downloaded addons, built a course on building addons, and helped 100s of people get their sites going. My top addons:
Akismet - Stop spam submissions
Events - create calendar events, including recurring and multi-day ones
Mailchimp - add new contact requests to Mailchimp
Review - allow your team to review draft data without a Statamic account
Why Laravel?
I first found Laravel with Statamic v2 and immediately grokked it; it made complete sense to me and I revelled in how quickly I could build a full featured app. I quickly learned that it was the most popular PHP Framework in the world!
So when it was time to build my first SaaS company, Glazed, I naturally turned to Laravel and am extremely proud of the result.
Erin is a stand-out guy, great dev, great communicator and brutally honest. If he weren't Canadian you'd easily mistake him for a Dutchie.
