I’ve been in tech since The Before Days, both as a developer and a software sales person, so I have a unique view of the industry. I’ve come to realize that most devs/agencies don’t know how to sell, and it’s costing them money and great clients.

What You Do Wrong

  • pitch the tech

  • sell to someone who can’t buy

  • try to close before they’re ready to buy

  • think price matters

  • don’t understand their reason for buying

  • don’t know their buying process

  • haven’t created urgency

What You Should Do

  • Sell the why

People don't by what you do, they buy why you do it
  • understand their consequences of inaction

  • speak to the actual buyer

  • sell your true value

  • uncover the real reason for change
